Made on our premises, with only the finest materials and craftsmanship, each garment is developed with your input, allowing a creative collaboration throughout the entire process. Bespoke Dress

We begin with the inspiration. That might be a photo you bring us; a dress you saw in a magazine or a gown from your favourite movie. It may just be the words you would use to describe your dream dress – romantic, elegant, modern, sophisticated, smart – or perhaps you might ask us what we think would flatter you most. To ensure your bespoke dress is fitted to perfection we will take many individual body measurements, create a calico/toile (mock up of the garment in appropriate weight cotton or crepe), and prepare your own personal couture pattern which will be cut precisely to make sure that all proportions are correct and the garment is cut to flatter your body perfectly. Some garments require two calico/toile fittings depending on the complexity. Whether it’s a simple casual dress or an extravagant evening gown it will be made to a haute couture standard using a mixture of couture hand sewing and machine stitching. It will be fitted to you precisely, and we won’t be completely happy with the results until you are.

Bespoke Ladies Suit

Our talented dressmakers have the ability to create exquisite and unique pieces and work to any specifications. We will guide you through the process of creating a unique bespoke suit by helping you choose the right style, fabrics, colours, designs and detailing. Whether you choose a formal work suit or decide on a Chanel inspired design, there are many advantages to having your suit tailor made for you no matter what your size or build. Starting Prices (Excluding Fabric)

Consultation

We charge a £50.00 consultation fee. This fee is taken in advance of your appointment and is refunded in the event you proceed with one of our services.

Reassurance

Alterations Boutique is a VAT registered Limited company with a comprehensive insurance policy that covers your garment whilst it is in our possession. Unfortunately, there are individuals that have set up rogue businesses that do not pay tax, take cash only and do not have the correct insurance in place which means you and your garment have no protection. We are proud to be a British company that complies with all rules and regulations to provide peace of mind to our clients.

The Team

All of our team are qualified Dressmakers or Tailors by trade. Despite being already qualified, the team have to undergo a rigorous Alterations Boutique training programme to demonstrate they perform work to our high standards. In addition, there is ongoing regular training to help the team master their skills.
